new layout for the network

it is December and the merry winter season has started (well, in North America). In celebration, I have designed a new layout for the network, featuring Sawako Kuronuma of Kimi ni Todoke. (A great series by the way). This fall I didn't update the network very much. School and life just took over. For the winter season, however, I hope to do more updates. I have made a new check-list of all the things I would like to finish before the spring season starts in March. The list goes like this:

1) Close Frank
2) Close Yule Ball and Crush
3) Work on Defective's revamp
4) Write  the content for the shrine part of Sawayaka
5) Design new layout for all my fanlistings.
6) Finish writing the content for Maternal Prophecy.
7) Design a contact page
8) Design a layout archive
9) Design a credits/copyright page
10) Make a custom layout for the update livejournal page

And that's it. Hopefully, I'll start working on the list before the holidays, but if you don't hear from me before then, happy holidays!

New Error 404 page layout

The title says it all. I made a new layout for the 404 page.
It features Sakura Endou from Yoshizumi Wataru's Spicy Pink.
I highly recommend that manga series. Go read it today!
The picture was edited with Photoshop and coded with Smultron.

School has started!

Hello there! It's been awhile. School has started. I have finally collected everything I left here when I went to my exchange in Japan. Everything I bought in Japan that I sent via sea mail are still at my uncle's place, so I haven't received them yet. Hopefully they will arrive in early October. *prays* Because most of my resources are things that I bought in Japan, my resource problem I had before continues, so do not expect any projects to appear this month or the next month. However, currently I am working on Yule Ball's revamp and expanding my Robo shrine, so I am still doing something. The process is going slowly but both should be finished by the end of October.... well, that's my plan anyway.

Also, it seems that my Kimi ni Todoke manga vols 1-6 got lost. I don't know where it went. I thought I mailed my Kimi ni Todoke manga 1-9 to Japan when I was going over there, but when my mail arrived, only 6-9 arrived. So, I thought maybe I kept it here in Canada, but after collecting all the things I left here, 1-6 never appeared. :( Where did it go, I wonder... I don't really wanna buy new manga. Well, I really do need to start on my Kimi ni Todoke project, so I did something bad and downloaded the scanlations of the manga that I lost. Probably this month I'll catch up and come to a decision to whom I should shrine (Ayane or Sawako?). I think Sawako might win, but who knows? I do have a lot to say about Ayane... (Btw, there's a live action movie for Kimi ni Todoke coming out on Sept. 24 in Japan for those who don't know. It looks like the story will cover the manga pretty well. Personally I was just overjoyed that I could understand the Japanese trailer. Yay, go me!)

Two weeks ago, I got a Hana Yori Dango fever. When my stuff that I left in Canada returned, I reread 1-12 of the manga I owned. Then, later, I downloaded and played the "new" Hana Yori Dango dating game on my DS. (In the end, I got Domyouji.) Last week, I even rewatched the Hana Yori Dango drama, which I still think is super cheesy. Right now, I have checked out volumes 16-21 from the library and read them. It seems that each time i open a Hana Yori Dango manga I get a HYD fever. Because of this fever, I have decided to make a shrine to Tsukushi Makino, the protagonist of HYD (and the current layout's cover girl). It is an idea shrine, not exactly in the planning stages, but o well, it's been added to the project's list.

Well, that's all it for now.

How to Save a Life and Switch

I have officially closed my Mop Girl and Papa to Musume no Nanokakan fanlistings. Links to those sites are now broken links with 404 error pages. Please remove your bookmarks. Thank you.

Project Update

I have revised and updated my projects. My collective as you can see is quite small. For websites, I have one site that's revamping while another site needs attention. Besides websites, I have six fanlistings that I have wrote information for, but because they are fanlistings, they aren't entirely considered "websites". I want to make my collective bigger, so I have been making a large list of website projects. Today, I have decided to go over them with you for my benefit and my sanity. I will go over them in order from the project I really want to start to the project that seems like a good idea.

Note: Right now, majority of the projects I want to work on cannot be work on because I don't have my resources with me. The resources that I am missing are JunToku manga volumes 1-13, Kimi ni Todoke manga volumes 1-10, BokuKanoXXX manga volumes 1-7, and lastly, Slam Dunk manga volumes 1-8. These resources are in storage or on their way here from Japan. I won't be able to retrieve them until late August or mid-September, so I won't be able to work on anything until then. Bummer! However, that will not stop me from telling you about my plans though.

My top priority project is Two-Hearts (or is it Two-Heart?) Necklace, a couple shrine to Renji Ono and Yukari Komaki. I have been a fan of them ever since I read their story in volume 3 of the manga and knew I had to make a shrine to them after I read a continuation of their story in volume 5 and 6. Since JunToku and this couple's story are not well-known nor popular, I really want to share their story with you. However, I need my JunToku manga volumes 3, 5, 6, and 13 to do it. : (

Next, I have a fanlisting to Sawako Kuronuma called Sawayaka. Before I went on my exchange, I wanted to make a shrine to her, so I was planning on writing the content once I've returned. However, now that I am back, I am not sure whether or not I want to make a shrine to her. She's a great character and I love her to death, but she isn't my favorite character anymore. My favorite character is now Ayane Yano... or at least, I think she is. I havent read the series for so long that I am not sure who my favorite character is anymore. Well, I'll be thinking about the future of this project and give you my decision after I caught up with the manga. (I know that there are scanlations of this manga online that are pretty up-to-date, but I like holding my manga in my hands while reading it in Japanese with the aid of my red electronic Japanese dictionary. There is just something pleasant about it. )

After Sawayaka, I want to make a shrine to Maria Kawai of Akuma to Love Song. Two days ago, I read its scanlations and became instantly hooked. I loved the story and found the characters to be really interesting. I especially love the main character, Maria, and wanted to make a shrine for her. However, I feel I do not know enough about her to make a dedication. I may be up to volume 7, but the Japanese manga is up to volume 10 and does not look like it will be stopping anytime soon.

My next project is a shrine to Ryota Miyagi of Slam Dunk. I am a huge fan of Slam Dunk, and my favorite character is Ryota Miyagi, #1 Point Guard. I just love him and his crush on Aya, the basketball club manager, is freakin adorable. However, Slam Dunk is a 31-volumed shounen manga, which means that I have a lot of information to gather and write. Since I am naturally lazy, I do not have much willpower or inspiration to do it. But, I will try my best to get it done.

For my Akira Uehara shrine project, I am going to wait for the series to finish before I write my stuff. Out of all the characters in the manga, Akira is the one who just keeps developing and showing new sides to his character. In order to get all his sides, I am going to wait until the series is over to start creating the shrine. In addition, I plan to write some sections about gender and sexuality because I feel that the series asks and answers a lot of questions concerning those topics (in a comical way).

My newest idea and probably an idea that might later become a project is my idea to create a site about the relationship between Prince Zuko and Uncle Iroh of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Until I watched season 3, I was planning to make a shrine to Prince Zuko because I loved his angst character and admired his strength as he struggles to find his way in the Avatar world. However, season 3 came in and ruined most of my admiration for him. I am in the middle of season 3, and all of a sudden, I see him dating some boring girl and being this total weak sap, not being the guy I liked: an awkward guy who is trying so hard to find his way in life. *Sigh* After watching "The Beach" episode, I realized that maybe it isn't Zuko whom I like so much but his relationship with his uncle. This could be true because I do love his uncle, and most of my favorite scenes in the series are when Zuko is with his uncle, complaining, being happy, or doing some self-help.

Well, those are all my projects. I might add new ideas and/or cancel some old ones. It just depends on whether or not I find or lose the inspiration to do them. Hopefully some will be started by this fall. *crosses fingers*

A Mini Pet Peeve

In the sequel page, I have written a little section that I named "A Mini Pet Peeve". When I was looking for information about the sequel, I kept seeing the sequel title written incorrectly, and after awhile, it got on my nerves. I decided to do something about it, and instead of doing my summer course's homework, I wrote about it. I had to use some of my Japanese knowledge for the explanations, so I hope those explanations make sense. Again, I am not the best writer, so if you find something that doesn't make sense, please give me the heads up.

I was thinking later that I will rant about the mistakes I have been seeing on the net for Boku to Kanojyo no XXX because they are A LOT. However, I need to finish my To-Do list before I start working on that.

Finished Writing Content

I have finished writing the content pages for Blind, Deaf, and Dumb. My writing isn't that great, but these content pages should be informative and understandable for those who haven't read Junai Tokkou Taichou! yet. However, if something doesn't make sense to you, please email me about it right away, so I can fix it and make it more visitor-friendly. Well, enjoy reading!

Contact Form

After so many days, I could not find a php mail form that I could use or would work with my host server. I tried a whole bunch of them, but none of them would work for me even if I begged them. Today, however, I found a free service that would make email forms easy to make and manage. Right now, I am loving this service, but since this is the first time I am using it, I cannot yet recommend it to others. Please use this form if you do not want to email me personally. Probably after I finished Yule Ball's revamp, the contact page will have its own page and be linked to other websites on this site. Expect this plan in the fall...

Note: I finished another component of the To-do List.

Started Writing Content

I have started writing the content for Blind, Deaf, and Dumb. I noticed that my writing isn't very good, but it should be somewhat understandable. If it's not at all, give me email about it, and I'll try to fix it. The last pages to write is Manga and Author. All of those sections have been written (on a journal), so they should be online pretty soon. I just need to format and edit them.
